Investee Detail
Current Investee - A Reason to Survive (ARTS)
Founded in 2001 by artist Matt D’Arrigo, A Reason To Survive (ARTS) offers life-changing opportunities to San Diego's underserved young people by providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment to express themselves via the visual, performing, and literary art mediums. Ninety percent of the youth ARTS serves are considered low-income, and all programs are free.
ARTS reaches over 10,000 children annually through the Pat D’Arrigo ARTS Center, VanGo Transportation, community outreach programs, community art projects, scholarships, and ARTS Enterprises—arts-based businesses employing homeless and low-income youths. In collaboration with over 30 community partners and through outreach programs at Rady Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, San Diego Center for Children, and community art projects, ARTS has reached over 50,000 youths since its inception.
